They say doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity, but what if all you want to do is get better at it?I am constantly seeking an improvement in my drawing skills as well as the ability to see mistakes and correct them. In realistic painting some challenges are greater than others, like consistently getting values in yellow right and creating the illusion of depth. I think (for me at least) taking more time to get things right in the under painting creates more correct outcomes in the top coats
David Zimmerman was born in Washington, D.C.He began his studies at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1964. He continued on in his training with Bill Woodward at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. In order to receive a bacalaureate degree he transferred to George Washington University, where he studied Drawing and Printmaking with Frank Wright. He was granted a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts in 1970.After a brief period of training with Phillip Pearlstein in Massachusetts, he returned to George Washington University where he again studied with William Woodward and Arthur Hall Smith.
