Artist's Description

Once in a while I cross over to experiment with different approaches to my work. This piece is a departure, in that I start with a pen and ink drawing before laying in oil paint, and of course allowing it to show through.

About David Zimmerman

David Zimmerman

David Zimmerman was born in Washington, D.C.He began his studies at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1964. He continued on in his training with Bill Woodward at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. In order to receive a bacalaureate degree he transferred to George Washington University, where he studied Drawing and Printmaking with Frank Wright. He was granted a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts in 1970.After a brief period of training with Phillip Pearlstein in Massachusetts, he returned to George Washington University where he again studied with William Woodward and Arthur Hall Smith. He was awarded a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting in 1976. David has had 37 one man shows at Veerhoff Galleries,...
