Considering a painting finished is one of my most difficult tasks; often,my work outstrips my current skill set (or patience) and I just move on, only to revisit and revise.Even after more than 40 years of painting professionally I see strides that advance those skills as well as new opportunities, even from/in previously ended works.

About David Zimmerman

David Zimmerman

David Zimmerman was born in Washington, D.C.He began his studies at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1964. He continued on in his training with Bill Woodward at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. In order to receive a bacalaureate degree he transferred to George Washington University, where he studied Drawing and Printmaking with Frank Wright. He was granted a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts in 1970.After a brief period of training with Phillip Pearlstein in Massachusetts, he returned to George Washington University where he again studied with William Woodward and Arthur Hall Smith. He was awarded a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting in 1976. David has had 37 one man shows at Veerhoff Galleries,...
