I often wonder if everyone who is sharing the same reality sees light and color the same as I do. Painting is a wonderful shorthand, a system of noting what I see and approximating how I see it. After painting for so many years I have stopped questioning and just get on with the business of setting some goals for a painting and trying to accomplish them.
About David Zimmerman
David Zimmerman was born in Washington, D.C.He began his studies at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1964. He continued on in his training with Bill Woodward at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. In order to receive a bacalaureate degree he transferred to George Washington University, where he studied Drawing and Printmaking with Frank Wright. He was granted a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts in 1970.After a brief period of training with Phillip Pearlstein in Massachusetts, he returned to George Washington University where he again studied with William Woodward and Arthur Hall Smith.
